PT Encona Inti Industri has delivered gas plants, refineries, power stations and industrial facilities across Indonesia since 1981 — as designer, as construction manager, and as single-point EPC contractor.
Encona began as the project and construction management division of PT Encona Engineering, one of the few multi-disciplinary firms in Indonesian engineering at the time. It was set up as an independent subsidiary in 1981 and became a wholly legal entity in 1985.
The wider Encona group was founded in 1970 and has kept in-house expertise across urban and regional planning, architecture, transportation, mechanical and electrical engineering, environmental engineering and utility systems — disciplines that still operate as one integrated system on our projects.
In late 2007 PT Adhimix Precast Indonesia took a shareholding, adding fabrication, logistics and financial strength to our engineering base. Encona has also held a shareholding in PT Pertafenikki Engineering, later renamed PT JGC Indonesia, through which our oil and gas experience deepened against strict international technical and HSE standards.
Our services cover every project phase, from determining what a client actually needs through to post-operational and maintenance programmes. Our technical solutions for complex construction problems always include the effort to protect the environment.
Feasibility studies that expose break-even points, cash flow and financing models. Master plans that translate a study into a conceptual plan, master schedule, master budget and finance plan. Front-end and detail engineering across structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
Material take-off and requisitions read straight from the engineering documents, purchase order terms drafted with legal precision, and expediting that holds a tight delivery schedule. Procurement moves the largest share of a project budget, so it gets a system built for it.
We identify the specialist works a job contains and manage them as construction manager, cutting duplicated overhead and margin while holding quality. Backed by our own workshop and fabrication facilities, and by Adhimix Precast for structural components.

Design and construction sit solely with Encona. Working from the client's terms of reference we prepare the engineering, execute the works and hand over at commissioning — one contract, one point of accountability for quality, quantity, cost and time.
Construction contracts are signed directly between the owner and specialist contractors, with Encona managing them as construction manager. Where it suits the job we combine this with a fast-track approach: foundation work starts on site while engineering of later parts is still under way.
The most common route in Indonesia. Engineers and architects prepare the design against a terms of reference, tender documents follow, and contractors bid for the works. Encona can act as design consultant, and can stay on through construction as supervisor or construction manager.
Also delivered: Kalija I gas transmission line for PT PGN Solution — 188 km offshore, 12 km nearshore and 2 km onshore pipeline by HDD, 116 MMscfd, in consortium with SapuraKencana.
